About La Nova

The Best Pizza and Wings Anywhere!

La Nova was born in 1957 when Joe Todaro (Papa Joe) started La Nova Pizzeria on 43 South Niagara Street in the City of Tonawanda. Joe worked 7 days a week with his son, Joe (Big Joe), who was 12 years old.

Big Joe and his father introduced Buffalo favorites such as the White Pizza, Steak and Cheese subs and La Nova's World Famous Barbeque Wings; an absolute favorite in the Queen City.

When there is an influx of Ex-Buffalonians returning home for the holidays, people just have to have their La Nova.

In 1994, Big Joe’s, his son Joe (L.J) and daughter Carla started La Nova Wings Inc. Their Wings and Sauces are now sold in Foodservice outlets Worldwide.

Only able to purchase when in the main st area. So we got a pizza and looked forward to having it. Got pizza from here a few times and it was pretty good. Unfortunately not today, sauce seemed very spicy and the pie was a little undercooked. Wife and I had 1 piece each, and we were very disappointed. Like $30 something for a pie, Called my son and had him come get it! Guess it will be a while before we get another.

So I ordered off of DoorDash for lunch. I ordered a pizza sub, something I haven’t had in a long time and I was disgusted. The smell of burning cardboard consumed the air like it was a fire burning inside the bag it was cut up in four pieces as if it was edible so i’m guessing this was thrown together wrapped in foil in the oven and then thrown out the door without even looking at the quality of it! Not appetizing to the eyes at all because that’s the first thing that you eat with….. The quality of this business has gone down. This used to be one of my favorite places however it was the original one that’s on West ferry, but this is sad for a place like this with a reputation that they have always had the bottom line. It was disgusting looking so I threw it in the trash because that’s exactly what it was. I wouldn’t not have served that to my dog and if I was a owner of the establishment that’s gonna be a number one priority to look at the quality of the food before it goes out the door because if you wouldn’t eat it, nobody else wants to eat it either the crazy part is it didn’t smell like pizza at all

I ordered my wings extra crispy, not crispy but extra! These wings don't reflect that and I was so excited to get them being that I haven't ordered from LaNova's in years. Huge disappointment! I also noticed that the ratings differ from the location on W. Ferry. I door dashed and was hoping they were coming from the original location, but nope. Very disappointed but I did get my money back for my order.

I visited Lanova 01/24/2026 at about 5:30pm and ordered a 10-piece wing and a slice of pizza, totaling $27. Upon receiving my order, I noticed that one wing was misshapen and another was unusually small. As a customer, especially given the current economic climate and rising prices, I expect consistent, premium-quality portions when paying a premium price. When an order is advertised as a 10-piece wing, it’s reasonable to expect 10 properly sized, quality wings. Charging premium prices while serving undersized or deformed wings feels disappointing and not reflective of good value.

Did not receive what I ordered! I ordered a garlic crust, and didn’t get it, I paid extra for double cheese & double pepperoni, look at the picture & tell me which one has double…they look the same, out $8! Also ordered “saucy” wings… nope! Don’t expect to get what you order! Upsetting, won’t be coming back!
